For the 2nd release, Kantrasta team invited a very special artist - the owner of the legendary Sonic Mind imprint, Donnell Knox aka D-Knox. While currently residing in Warsaw, PL, Donnell was born and raised in Kalamazoo - the Michigan city lying halfway between Detroit and Chicago - where he was one of the dons of the local scene in the 90ies. And believe us, with his Kantrasta release D-Knox proves no one else does it this way! The EP opens with New Ideas - a classy fusion of techno and house, which reminisces of some of the finest Planet E releases. Those expect the rest of the EP to head the same direction might be in for a shock, with Mental Stillness hitting hard with that classic Sonic Mind raw funkiness. This Energy goes more straight forward techno direction, with clear Chicago house influences (that vocal sample!). Closing the release is Moving Forward- highly distorted, soulful techno at its purest: think Tresor at 4am in 1997!
